He's got 'Wicked' chops

Three quickie yeses --John Twiford, 16-year-old Allison Iraheta and Raquel Houghton. I'll see what I can dig up on them later, because we got no backstory.

Annie Murdoch hasn't prepared an audition song, and it shows. She doesn't do a half-bad job by audition standards -- at least until she goes for the high notes, and then it all falls apart. Simon says she sounded like she was drunk. Note to future auditioners: This is why you prepare, prepare, prepare.

And here's Adam Lambert, who's been in a production of Wicked for the past year and a half. He starts Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody with a low-key delivery, then builds and builds until Simon stops him before he tops out. There's more discussion than I expected about whether or not to send him through. He's theatrical -- which everybody notes -- but he's clearly got the night's best voice so far.
