San Francisco: The Unofficial Wrap-up

Tuesday night was no San Francisco treat for American Idol viewers, with brief bad auditions and at least two contestants who received golden tickets they didn't really deserve. But the wickedly theatrical Adam Lambert holds promise, as does Kai Kalama of San Clemente, California. Producers gave the audience a too-quick look at three others who'll be in Hollywood -- one of whom, Raquel Houghton, used to have a major-label record deal and also dated comedian Dane Cook. The episode also set up tension between judges Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi, who seems determined not to let Simon's veto vote set the tone for the season.
