‘Idol’ recap: Did David Cook steal 'Billy Jean'?

Ryan knew right away what the night had in store: “There’s a special vibe.”

It wasn’t just Syesha who flipped it. Everyone did. My girl Carly was bad, my boy Archuleta was cheesy, my hippie girl Brooke went cosmo, my eye candy Michael sounded even better than he looked, and the bane of my “American Idol” existence, Kristy Lee Cook, was almost close to kinda approaching the realm of OK. Dang it, that patriotic country song is probably going to keep her around for a while.

But enough of her. How about David Cook? I wasn’t buying into his poor man’s Daughtry rip-off routine, but I was ready to eat crow after that “Billy Jean.” Man.
