Kai Kalama, of San Clemente,CA often performs locally with his band, Off White. According to the band’s MySpace page, it plays “soul rock from the broken heart of California.”

Millions saw and heard him do his thing on Monday night during the San Francisco American Idol auditions.

He sang “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” and got the Golden Ticket to Hollywood.
